This year, a harvester with a massive platform that collects olives is assisting us during the olive harvest. This method of harvesting is ideal for olive groves with a large number of trees, such as ours. The machine reduces the need for labor, which is increasingly difficult to find these days. Moreover, the machine enables faster harvesting, which is crucial because we wouldn’t be able to harvest 15,000 trees on time using only manual labor. It is important to emphasize that the machine does not damage the trunk or bark of the trees in any way.
The mechanical harvester is a self-propelled machine, currently the most compact on the market, allowing it to move quickly between olive trees. With a telescopic arm that helps the operator reach the tree, it also features a KFT KIT system for maximum trunk protection, along with seven vibration programs that can be adjusted according to the tree and fruit. The machine transfers the olives onto a conveyor belt, which delivers them to a device that separates the leaves, ensuring the olives end up perfectly clean in collection crates.
